HydroFacial vs Microdermabrasion
The main difference between Hydrofacial and microdermabrasion is that Hydrofacial is a gentler treatment that uses a variety or serums to ride impurities and hydrate the skin, whist being suitable for all skin types, while microdermabrasion is a deeper exfoliating treatment helping to remove the top layer of the skin, revealing glowy skin underneath.
One can utilize both treatments to improve similar skin concerns. If you want to improve your skin's overall tone and texture, microdermabrasion is a good option. If you're looking for a treatment to reduce dryness, sunburns, and dark spots, hydrofacial is the best option.
MICRONEEDLING
Suitable for all skin types, and ideal for those who wish to improve skin laxity, smooth lines and wrinkles, slow the onset of the ageing process or improve the appearance of scarring.
Micro needling is very safe but bleeding is possible, the treatment involves the use of a needle on a handheld device. A numbing cream may be applied, but you may still feel a prickling sensation.
AFTERCARE
Your skin will usually be slightly pink, and you may experience some mild bleeding and bruising depending on your treatment.
The downtime with this treatment is very quick and you should have recovered between 24-72 hours.
Your skin may feel warm, tight, and itchy for a short while. This should subside in 12-48 hours.

A series of 3-5 treatments is usually recommended to achieve maximum results and as the results rely on kick-starting your body's own collagen production, it can take 4-8 weeks before you start to fully see the benefits. It is also often advised to use cosmeceutical grade skincare at home to enhance your results.
Side effects or risks are minimal with this type of treatment ( although rare) and typically include

minor flaking or dryness of the skin with scab formation in rare cases.

Although rare, there is a small risk of side effects including swelling, blistering and crusting or for a mild acne breakout. In severe cases infection and ulceration may result, although this is not expected to occur
due to the sterility of the procedure and the minimally invasive nature of the peel.
There is a small risk that skin discolouration (hyperpigmentation) of the skin can occur after the procedure, although this is not normally expected due to the superficial type of peel used.

CARBOXYTHERAPY
Carbon dioxide occurs naturally in the body, and carboxytherapy relies on your body's own circulation to increase oxygen in the treated areas.
Carboxytherapy targets stubborn concerns--sagging skin, dark under-eye circles, lack of collagen production and ache scars.
Why do we need Carboxytherapy?
As we age there is less capillary activity which in turns means less oxygen is carried to the dermis; this inhibits the ability of cells to regenerate and function properly and the skin slowly loses its elasticity and collagen.
By the age of 30, oxygen levels in our skin drop by 25% and about 50% by the age of 40.
The body naturally gets its oxygen by breathing. The body will first utilise oxygen in the major organs and then for the skin. If the skin doesn't get enough oxygen, it becomes more prone to aging, dullness, irritation and age spots.
Carboxytherapy infuses carbon dioxide (CO2) just beneath the skin's surface. Our body responds by increasing blood flow and growth factors, which encourages capillary activity.
This provides a surge of oxygen and nutrients to the treated area and improves circulation, resulting in cell restoration, which reduces fine lines and wrinkles and stimulates collagen.
How long do Carboxytherapy results last?
The effects of a Carboxytherapy treatment are cumulative - with every subsequent treatment improving the results of the previous one. An initial series of 4-8 weekly or fortnightly treatments is recommended.
Carboxytherapy results are temporary, so we recommend having regular treatments to maintain results.
-
Every 3 - 4 weeks: age 50+
-
Every 4 - 6 weeks: age 40+
-
Every 6 - 8 weeks: age 20 - 40
-
Provides immediate results with no downtime
-
Not pain free (slight stinging when mask applied)
You are not suitable for Carboxytherapy if you have any of the following:
•Pregnant or Breastfeeding
•Epilepsy
•Undergoing treatment for any form of Cancer
•Any autoimmune disorder
•Active eczema, psoriasis or rosacea if inflamed skin, pustules, or papules at the time of treatment–fine to treat if completely resolved
•Acne patients who take Roaccutane (or other acne medication) as the skin is very sensitive and thin. Can be used on acne though
•Skin infections including any bacterial, viral, fungal, or herpetic infection
•Pre-existing inflammatory dermatoses (eg.atopic dermatitis, pemphigus)
•Wounded, sunburned, excessively sensitive skin
•Known sensitivity or allergy to products
•Recent aesthetic treatments such as a filler, chemical peel, micro needling, waxing, laser hair removal in the treated area-give the skin time to heal (approx.2 weeks minimum)
